OVERVIEW

Situated at the foot of the beautiful Schapenberg Mountain range within the Knorhoek Estate, True Grit Bike Park is every mountain biker's dream. A completely secure, fenced-in network of trails from kiddies circuit to longer advanced rides.

On your bike

The Bike Park is ideal for those who are pressed for time in the week and need more quality training versus quantity training. With 3 kiddies tracks and 6 trails to choose from, there is something for everyone.

Kiddies Skills Circuit (Very Easy)– A completely enclosed Balance Bike Pump Track Circuit with small obstacles for kiddies aged 2-6 years old, which simulates the outer Kids Pump Track, with a picnic area and shading for Moms and Dads to enjoy whilst the Kiddies play safely around them. The Kiddies will be entertained for hours as they navigate all the little obstacles that will teach them the valuable skills they need in their growth into cycling

800m Kids Pump Track (Easy) – A larger Pump Track from the Kiddies Skill Circuit. The Kids Pump Track is for the older Kids aged 7 years and older. The Pump Track offers twist and turns, humps and bumps that will teach them the necessary skills to navigate the bigger Kids Trail.

1,5km Green Kids Trail (Easy) – A longer version of the Kids Pump Track which offers a scenic trail between the trees alongside the river system that combines a Pump Track and a Trail system offering downhills, humps, bumps and rock gardens together in a fun and challenging way for Kids who are a bit more skilled and have mastered the Kids Pump Track.

2.5km Short Blue Route (Intermediate)– A more difficult and technically longer version of the Kids Trail which offers wide bridges over river systems, elevated boardwalks in between trees, single track, sharp twist and turns and sharp punchy climbs to test the more experienced rider aged 12 years and older or unless accompanied by an Adult as the trail moves away from the Coffee Bar.

5km Long Blue Route (Intermediate) – A more difficult and technically longer version of the Short Blue Route Trail which offers even more bridges over rivers, elevated boardwalks in between trees, single track, rock garden downhills, sharp twist and turns and sharp punchy climbs to test the more experienced rider aged 15 years and older or unless accompanied by an Adult as the trail moves away from the Coffee Bar.

10km Short Orange Route (Intermediate) – A scenic short trail flowing out from the Long Blue Route that mostly consists of scenic servitude roads with a gradual climb alongside the Sir Lowry’s Pass railroad system where it then crosses the railroad system below Bezweni Lodge and enters the moderate single track back down towards the Coffee Bar. Something simple and easy if you are new into the world of mountain biking with nothing too technical and easy single track to navigate over a short manageable distance.

12km Long Orange Route (Intermediate) – A scenic longer trail flowing out from the Long Blue and Short Orange Route that mostly consists of scenic servitude roads with a gradual climb alongside the Sir Lowry’s Pass railroad system where it heads up a moderate climb around Wedderwill Winery and Idiom Wines between the vineyards around Da Capo Restaurant down into a technical short single track. It then crosses the railroad system below Bezweni Lodge and enters the moderate single track back down towards the Coffee Bar. Something moderate if you are new into the world of mountain biking with nothing too technical and moderate single track to navigate over a short manageable distance.

17km Red Route (Advanced)- A scenic longer trail flowing out from the Long Blue Route that mostly consists of scenic servitude roads with a gradual climb alongside the Sir Lowry’s Pass railroad system where it heads up a tough long climb around Idiom Wines between the vineyards and around Da Capo Restaurant up into the mountains. Where the trail makes it way down into a technical short single track with three splits ranging from a difficult A, moderate B and intermediate C trail. It then crosses the railroad system below Bezweni Lodge and enters a moderate single track, then heads back up a tough long climb towards the mountain and then back down a moderate single track back into the Long Blue Route before heading back towards the Coffee Bar. Something technical and short if you are more experienced.

25km Black (Expert)– A scenic longer trail flowing out from the Long Blue and Red Route that mostly consists of scenic technical single track with lots of tough long climbs. Starting off with the scenic Blue Route and onto the servitude roads with a gradual climb alongside the Sir Lowry’s Pass railroad system where it heads up a tough long switch backing climb around Idiom Wines between the vineyards and around Da Capo Restaurant up into the mountains. The trail then makes it way down into a long technical narrow single track on the edge of Magic Mountain below Hans Kop. It then crosses the railroad system below Bezweni Lodge and enters a moderate fast single track, then heads back up a tough short climb towards the Red Route and then back down a moderate single track back into the Long Blue Route before heading back towards the Coffee Bar. Something more technical and short if you are more experienced and have nerves of steel.Off the bike
