This route offers some spectacular views over the Orange River and has a very technical uphill climb for the keener MTBer. Guided rides are also offered by Gerhard Oberholster from Xtreme Green.
On your bike
The route starts at Vergelen Guesthouse and then continues along old watertonnels to the foot of the Swartbooisberg mountain. From here the route takes a very steep 3km uphill with some lekker technical sections inluding loose rocks and a gradient change of 22% in the last 50m to the top. When the top of the mountain has been reached, enjoy the view over the wineyards and follow the same route back to Vergelegen.
Off the bike
Visit the majestic Augrabies Falls less then 20km away and explore the beauty of mother nature on foot by doing a hiking trail in the Augrabies Nature Reserve.
