Situated in the Waterberg mountain area, 26 km north of the town of Mookgophong (Naboomspruit), Sambane Game Lodge is privately owned, and the reserve provides peace, natural beauty and tranquility in a malaria-free environment. Abundant wildlife and prolific bird life fills the reserve. Hiking/biking trails and extended riding on game-viewing jeep tracks cater for novice and experienced mountain bikers alike.
On your bike
For the novice there is a 2.7 km route. The intermediate rider can explore a 6.9 km route, while for the more experienced rider a 13.7 km route runs through the most scenic and remote areas of the reserve. A 30 km gravel road network joins up with the dedicated bike trails and provides the opportunity to tailor-make your own routes. Encounter wildlife such as impala, kudu, red hartebeest, giraffe, blue wildebeest, zebra, white rhino, waterbuck, mountain reedbuck and a host of small mammals and predators.
Off the bike
Sambane Game Lodge also offers walking trails, horse-riding and daily game drives. Bird hides attract birdwatchers to the main dams. There’s also a children’s playground.
