There are two Caledon Rivers and Camelroc Guest Farm is situated right between them – facing a spectacular sandstone hill with an outcrop shaped like a camel’s head (hence the name). The surrounding Rooiberg ranges offer a great setting for a beautifully varied and purpose-built single-track trail, thus ensuring an authentic mountain bike experience with glorious views over the Maluti Mountains.
On your bike
These are genuine mountain bike trails. Set out in the Rooiberge of the Eastern Free State, near Fouriesburg. Beautiful and varied single trail purpose built for authentic mountain biking. Excellent views along most of the trail. This is for the adventurer who wants more than just riding on gravel roads and jeep tracks. You will not want to ride these exciting trails only once!
There are two routes – a 10km figure-of-eight and a 30km loop; the latter has two shortcut options to reduce it to either 20km or 10km. Overall, the route is quite difficult with a very tough climb up to the mountainous summit. It is mostly single-track and technical, covering varied terrain as it winds through trees along the Small Caledon River and up and down the slopes. Across-the-bar blesbuck viewing will complement the Maluti Mountain ambience here on the edge of rural Lesotho.
Off the bike
Self-Catering Chalets, Camp Site and en-suite rooms. Game viewing, swimming, DSTV, hiking trails and a very challenging 4×4 trail.
