Known for more than 20 game species, their large dam and over 50 kilometres of trails, the Cradle Moon Conservancy is a highveld haven located barely a hop and skip from Lanseria airport.
On the bike
The four marked routes are colour-coded by distance with the 10km (blue) route being the easiest, most popular and family-friendly. Cradle Moon offers diversity in difficulty with game-drive roads, single track, flowing sections and serious climbs. Trails on the other side of the dam are steeper, rockier and more challenging than those on the southern side (where you enter and park).

Other activities available are game drives and boat cruises; trail running, swimming, paddling and canoeing
Best time of year: All year. In summer, early mornings are recommended to beat the heat. Check weather conditions and beware of highveld storms in summer.
Security – Very good. Gate access, on fenced private property within a conservancy.
