This is not a ride for the off-road connoisseur but the wide plains and views across the Indian Ocean make it a perfect Sunday morning leisure outing.
On your bike
An easy return ride from Boggomsbaai to Fransmanshoek, starting from Boggomsbaai towards the Vleesbaai/Mosselbaai road along an easy tarmac cruise of 2 km. Turn left along this undulating and bumpy tarmac road for approximately 4 km, then turn left again towards Vleesbaai. Another 4 km or so of flat riding follows before you judder onto the final 3.5 km of gnarly gravel to Fransmanshoek.
Off the bike
Botlierskop Game Farm, featuring a good selection of fauna, is around the corner, as is bungee jumping at the Gouritz Bridge. The gorgeous Boggom’s Bay beach boasts dolphin-watching, swimming, surfing, fishing and snorkeling along a pristine coastline.
