Beware of: Do not deviate from designated areas or ride alone. Due to the introduction of elephants to the western shores of Lake St Lucia the public can no longer ride mountain bikes on the trails around Charter's Creek or Fanie's Island

The Greater St Lucia Wetland Park is a World Heritage Site, and consists of 250,000 ha of lakes, islands and estuaries. It is a Wetland of International Importance, home to the Nile crocodile, 800 hippo and an outstanding diversity of ecosystems, birds and wildlife.
On your bike
The Park provides opportunities for mountain-biking at False Bay and St Lucia Estuary. These rides are suitable for the novice to intermediate rider and vary in length from 15 to 25 km on sand tracks, trails, gravel roads and tar.
Off the bike
The St Lucia Wetlands Park is a popular destination and offers a wide range of activities. Fishing, boating, birdwatching, scuba-diving, hiking and camping are all on offer and the region offers marvelous photographic opportunities to amateur and professional photographer alike.
