OVERVIEW
This route begins from Roma to Mohale Dam and about 85 km. This is also the route for stage 4 of the Lesotho Sky(www.lesothosky.com) stage race.
On your bike
Roma to Mohale Dam. Prepare for a long ride starting off in Roma on scenic single track and sublime back country riding on the plateau around the university town of Roma. The track will lead you back onto a gravel road and eventually follow the Makhaleng River all the way to Ha Sempe, where you will hit the main tarred road to the Highlands Water project and will ride the rest of the stage on tar.
Note that the Blue Mountain Pass is the only UCI category 1 climb in Southern Africa. The highest point of the pass is at 2641m and both altitude and scenery will take your breath away. You will see the Mohale Dam in the distance between the Maluti Montains and after few more Kilometers on the same road you will finally hit the Orion Mohale Lodge
