OVERVIEW
This ride takes riders on an epic journey from Morija to Malealea. It is mostly single track and was rated the best stage of the Lesotho Sky Event 2011. This is also the route for stage 1 of the Lesotho Sky(www.lesothosky.com) stage race.
On your bike
After passing the royal village of Matsieng, the steep “Don’t Cough Pass” will lead the rider up and across a remote plateau and back down towards Malealea lodge. Watch out on the rocky descent on the other side of the plateau!There is 2 short hike a bike sections in the last 20km of the track. The challenge lies less in the technical bits but in the overall length. Fit riders can expect to finish in under 5 hours.
