Mountain Sanctuary Park is a privately owned nature reserve, nestled in the Magaliesberg Mountains. These majestic mountains, which are more than two-billion years old, stand proud and untouched and envelop magnificent crystal clear mountain pools and extraordinary rock formations.

The reserve has excellent access to some of the best trails crisscrossing these majestic ranges. If you’re an adventurous mountain biker, the 12km MTB trail on Mountain Sanctuary makes up part of the infamous Magalies Monster MTB race; so get crankingpast crystal-clear mountain pools and extraordinary rock formations.

Outside the nature reserve, a wide range of gravel roads beckons. Opt for an easy pedal along the Barnardsvlei road, or take on the physically demanding Breedt’s Neck Mountain Pass. This rugged dirt strip rises from an altitude of 1 360m to an imposing1 670m at the crest, before blasting all the way down to the R24.

Off the bike

Guests are welcome to bring a picnic or make use of the limited braai facility at the pool area. Hiking trails available.
