Access: Guests only - Access to and from the camp is a short section of gravel and then concrete strips of approximately two kilometres to the camp. Most vehicles with reasonable clearance can access the camp.
Beware of:
Facilities: Thatched cottages and rondavels for 30 guests, serviced daily. Communal catering & kitchen facilities. Hot & cold water. Good security.
Cell Reception: Not everywhere.
OVERVIEW
Sungubala Eco Camp is a comfortable Eco camp in the foothills of the northern Drakensberg Mountain range.
On your bike
MTB Trails include a 35 km Classic route on singletrack and jeep track and a variety of intense, technical singletrack. Sungubala will also facilitate access to the Drakensberg Trail Network should you want to venture further afield. You will bomb down into the flat fields below, up past Montusi Mountain Lodge and then around on the Old Nook farm road past Drifters, another resort. Finish by going down through the grounds of Alpine Heath Resort and back through the fields on the opposite side.

Off the bike
Marked hiking trails can also be supplemented with a guide. There’s river swimming, access to horse-riding, trout fishing, abseiling, trapezing, bungee bounce, paintball and a 150-m zip line or foefie slide.
