OVERVIEW
The Two Provinces Ride is an epic circuit of about 84km, mainly following public roads.
On your bike
Take the D401 dirt road to Hartbeeshoek and then loop back to the R560 to cross the Magalies River, then turn left onto the R560. Continue towards Skeerpoort, but turn right just before town onto the the dirt Hartbeeshoek road to ascend along a short pass over the mountain range.
At the next T-junction, turn right onto a quiet tar road to ride past Segwati Rance and the CSIR Hartbeeskhoek Satelite Tracking Station. Continue to the T-Junction with the R563, turn left and immediately right onto the next dirt road, signposted “Orient’. After 9m, turn right at the Magaliesburg sign, enjoying a roller coaster ride into the village before finally heading back to the start on tar along the Bekker schools road.
If you are not keen on the tarmac thing, rather opt for gravel cranking along the trails at Mokoya Lodge, situated in the Hekpoort Valley along the banks of the Magalies River.
Off the bike
Hot-air ballooning, horse trails, hiking, rock-climbing and game-viewing are just some ‘off the bike’ activities available in this area.
CONTACT:
